ChyraConnect cannot be used for emergency calls
ChyraConnect is an internet-based calling service and does not support calls to emergency numbers such as 911 (US, Canada), 999 (UK), or 112. For any emergency, always use your traditional phone or mobile carrier service.

How do I sign up for ChyraConnect?
Download ChyraConnect from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Open the app, enter your phone number, verify with OTP, and you're ready to go. The whole process takes under 2 minutes.
Is ChyraConnect free to download?
Yes, the app is completely free to download. You only pay for the minutes you use. There are no subscription fees, no monthly charges, and no hidden costs.
Which countries can I call?
ChyraConnect supports calls to 10 destinations at launch: Cameroon (+237), Egypt (+20), Ethiopia (+251), Ghana (+233), Kenya (+254), Nigeria (+234), South Africa (+27), Tanzania (+255), Uganda (+256), and the United Kingdom (+44). Where can I use ChyraConnect from?
You can use ChyraConnect to make calls from the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. The app works over both WiFi and mobile data connections.
💰 Billing & Payments
How do I add credit to my account?
Open the app and tap "Add" on the home screen. You can add credit instantly using any Visa or Mastercard debit/credit card. The minimum top-up is $5. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
How are calls billed?
Calls are billed per minute, rounded up to the next full minute. For example, a 2 minute 30 second call to Nigeria would be billed as 3 minutes (3 × $0.12 = $0.36). There are no connection fees.
What happens when my balance runs low?
You'll receive a voice notification when you have about 2 minutes of call time remaining, and again at 30 seconds. If your balance runs out during a call, the call will end automatically. You can top up anytime to continue calling.
What is Auto-Recharge and how do I set it up?
Auto-Recharge automatically tops up your balance when it falls below a threshold you choose, so you never get cut off mid-call. To enable it: open the app, tap the Credit tab, then Auto-Recharge. Choose your trigger amount and recharge amount. You can turn it off at any time.
Can I get a refund?
If you experience a technical issue that prevented a call from connecting, please contact us at support@chyraconnect.com with the call details. We review each case individually and issue credits where appropriate.
📞 Call Quality
Can I call emergency services (911, 999, 112)?
No. ChyraConnect does not support emergency calls. If you have an emergency, please use your regular mobile or landline phone to dial 911 (US, Canada), 999 (UK), 112, or your local emergency number. ChyraConnect is for non-emergency international calling only.
Why are calls sometimes unclear?
Call quality depends on your internet connection. For the best experience, use a strong WiFi connection or 4G/5G mobile data. Weak signals or congested networks can affect audio clarity. ChyraConnect uses premium carrier routes to ensure the best possible quality on our end.
Can I use ChyraConnect without WiFi?
Yes! ChyraConnect works over both WiFi and mobile data (4G/5G). As long as you have an internet connection, you can make calls.
Why did my call fail to connect?
Call failures can happen if the receiving number is unreachable, busy, or if there's a network issue. You won't be charged for calls that don't connect. If the problem persists, try restarting the app or switching between WiFi and mobile data.
Can I receive incoming calls on ChyraConnect?
Not at this time. ChyraConnect is currently outbound-only — you can place international calls but cannot receive calls back to a ChyraConnect number. The person you call sees your verified phone number on their caller ID and can call you back on your regular phone.
Do you record my calls?
No. We do not record or store the audio of your calls. Voice is transmitted in real time between you and the person you call, and is never retained by us. We do keep call detail records (the number you dialed, duration, and cost) so we can show your call history and bill you accurately.
🔒 Security & Privacy
Is my payment information safe?
Absolutely. All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor. We never store your full card number on our servers. All data is encrypted with 256-bit SSL encryption.
Does ChyraConnect access my contacts?
ChyraConnect requests access to your contacts to make dialing easier. Your contact data is synced securely and never shared with third parties. You can use the app without granting contact access by dialing numbers manually.
How do I delete my account?
To delete your account, open the ChyraConnect app, tap Profile at the bottom right, scroll down, and tap Delete Account. Confirm when prompted. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, in compliance with privacy regulations.
🛠️ Account & Troubleshooting
I'm not receiving the verification SMS
SMS delivery can occasionally be delayed by your carrier. Wait 60 seconds and tap "Resend code." Make sure you have a working signal and your phone isn't blocking unknown senders. If the code still doesn't arrive after a few minutes, double-check that you entered the correct phone number with the right country code, then contact us at support@chyraconnect.com for help.
I lost access to my phone number — how do I recover my account?
Email support@chyraconnect.com from the email address linked to your account, or include details that help us verify identity (recent transaction date, approximate balance, last destination called). We'll work with you to securely transfer your account to a new verified phone number.
My credit didn't update after I topped up
Top-ups usually appear within seconds. If your balance hasn't updated after a few minutes, try fully closing and reopening the app to refresh. If you can see a charge on your card statement but the credit isn't showing, contact us at support@chyraconnect.com with the date and amount and we'll investigate immediately.
I can't hear the other person, or they can't hear me
First check that your phone isn't on mute, that you've granted ChyraConnect microphone permission (Settings → ChyraConnect → Microphone), and that no other app is currently using the microphone. Try switching between WiFi and mobile data. If the issue persists, restart your phone and try again.
The app won't open or keeps crashing
Make sure your app is updated to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. If it continues to crash, try uninstalling and reinstalling — your account and balance are saved on our servers and will return after you sign back in. If the problem persists, email support@chyraconnect.com with your phone model and OS version.
How do I change my profile picture?
Tap Profile, then tap your avatar at the top of the screen. Choose Update Photo to pick a new image, or Remove Photo to revert to your initials.
